A Pinny for Your Thoughts
Are mesh shirts the equivalent of bubble wrap?
Camp Business (May/June 2020)
Read my reaction to a director who forbid “shirts and skins” and required boys to wear a pinny instead. His rationale: No one will feel self-conscious about their body. Do our efforts to insulate young people from social stress send unintended messages of physical disapproval? Might we contribute to body shaming and eating disorders without intending to? Consider the implications of your dress code.
