The future of boarding schools is in jeopardy because of how university admissions emphasize standardized testing and undervalue 21st century skills. The future success of boarding schools depends on leveraging their uniquely immersive community to cultivate a love of learning. Systemic improvements will support students’ mental health, decrease harmful pressure, and revive independent learning.
